The City of York was awarded $2,267,500 from HUD through the Alabama Department of Public Health and UA SAFE STATE for Lead Based Capacity Building. Service2Sumter also partnered with the City of York, AL to further strengthen the outcome of this grant initiative by serving as Program Manager.
$780,000 is allocated to 26 homes to abate and remediate housing containing lead in the City of York.

With these funds, we will support numerous projects, ranging from lead paint remediation and roof repairs to plumbing updates and structural improvements.

Every allocated dollar will improve the quality of life for residents in our community, helping them stay in their homes safely and comfortably.
