Service2Sumter held its first Women’s Wellness Brunch, focusing on rural community support for women’s health. Co-sponsor and host TaSharri Washington invited OB/GYN Dr. Simon from the Women’s Wellness Institute in Meridian, MS, and Licensed Professional Counselor Paula Davis from PNP Counseling in Waynesboro, MS, to discuss important topics such as grief, postpartum depression, endometriosis, breast cancer, menopause, and other aspects of women’s wellness. The 50 women in attendance were encouraged to ask questions about overall female health, directly engaging with the health care professionals. They enjoyed a delicious brunch featuring shrimp and grits, chicken sausage, wheat waffles, fruit, and chicken, all while listening to live music during this enriching wellness event.

One of our signature youth initiatives is 1st Step Math Boot Camp, a summer enrichment program created for rising elementary students. Designed to introduce students to core math concepts before the first day of school, the program helps children develop familiarity with math, reduce anxiety, and begin the school year with confidence.
